Obituary of Neil Tobias MacKay, Dominion

There is no greater pain than the loss of a loved one! With deep sadness in our hearts, we say “Not Good-bye” but “see you later” to our beloved Neil, who peacefully passed away July 24, 2022, surrounded by his loving family at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

Neil was a son of the late John and Mary (MacNeil) MacKay of Dominion. He was employed at St. Joseph’s/ Glace Bay Community Hospital for over 24 years. He loved playing darts and was a past member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 78, Dominion.

He was a jack-of-all trades and no job was too small for him. Always available to help anyone in need. Neil had a kind heart and it showed whenever he was in the presence of others. He was one of the strongest, most positive, caring men and would do anything for his family and friends. He will live in our hearts forever.

Neil leaves to mourn, his loving devoted wife, Anne; his proudest accomplishment- his children; Mary Anne (Stephen McIntyre) and Matthew. Also, his pride and joy, his precious grandchildren, Emma and Jake McIntyre whom he loved dearly, brothers, Mike (Sandra), John (Jane-deceased), Earl (Shelley); sister, Diane (Wayne Tarso), several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Jane (Peter DeWitte-deceased) and a niece, Angelina DeWitte.
