Thresa LeMoine, Scotchtown

Obituary of Thresa Euphemia (Mackie) LeMoine, Scotchtown

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Thresa Euphemia (Mackie) LeMoine, 91, on Friday, August 12, 2022 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born on January 15, 1931, Thresa was the eldest child of the late Daniel and Sarah (MacNeil) Mackie. Thresa was a beautiful lady inside and out; always seeing the good in everything and everyone. She was never without a smile on her face and was instantly loved by everyone she met. In earlier years, she was a member of the Scotchtown Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed doing crafts and baking her famous well-loved tea biscuits. Thresa was often singing and doing a little jig. She truly lit up a room.

Her family was the most important part of her life and she shared countless wonderful memories with each and every member.

Thresa is survived by sons, Victor (Marion) LeMoine, John (Virginia) LeMoine; daughters, Elaine (Ernie) Digero, Geraldine (Will) Whitehouse, Marlene (Keith) LeMoine, Carolyn (Leonard) Nugent; grandchildren, Troy, Tracy, Chris, Chad, Nicole, Tanya, Jennifer, Rose, Mandy, Madeline, Bernie, Jean, Brittany, Kelly and Brad (her soon to be grandson-in-law), who she loved and appreciated dearly; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler, Jaxson, Brett, Brea, Matthew, James, Jessica, Cameron, Kai, Shayla, Liana, Ellena, Dracen, Parker, Tyson, Bradley, Cooper (along with their wonderful father Kevin), and Bradley (her great-grandson on the way who she was so excited to meet); great-great-grandchildren, Nathan, Nicholas, Zoey, Ainsley, and a great-great-grandson on the way.

Thresa is also survived by her sisters, Annette Campbell, Pauline (Leno) DeGiobbi, Marilyn (Joe) McMullin; sons-in-law, Bernie Whitehouse and Jackie Ruelland; special friend who she loved dearly and thought of as a daughter, Anita MacInnis (Jim), as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides her parents, Thresa is predeceased by her husband, Victor LeMoine; son, Leo; granddaughter, Corrine; sisters, Geraldine and Mary; brothers, John, Greg, and Harvey.

There will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 18 at 3 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Lorne MacNeil officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Army, Navy, Airforce, Unit 217, New Waterford.
