Obituary of Allene Burchell, New Victoria

It is with great sadness and broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, surrounded by her loving children, at the age of 91 on Sept. 4, 2022.

Born Mar. 2, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Allan and Remigus (Marsh) McMullin.

Ma was a loving, caring soul. She adored her family and looked forward to card game nights with her sisters and close family friends. She also enjoyed her music, always singing and humming along. Burchell’s Dairy brought great joy to both Ma and Da as they welcomed everyone in the community from young to old.

Ma is survived by her sons, Russell (Judy) Burchell, Rocky (Leanna) Burchell; daughter, Lorraine MacKay; grandchildren, David, Shaun, Jeffrey, Lindsey, Lesley, and Logan; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Carter, Holden, Nole, Izzy; sisters, Polly Tighe, Colleen Billard, and Verna Petrie; in-laws, Cynthia (Frank), Rita, Ruth, Barb, Aubrey, and Aggie; special mention to Greg and Shirley Townsend.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Russell Burchell; siblings, Audrey, Leone, Lila, Lorraine (Triplets), Velma, Janis, Sonny, Billy; special family member, Peggy Currie; son-in-law, Leaman MacKay; in-laws, Billy and Margaret Burchell.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 9, 2022 from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. all in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford with Deacon Lorne MacNeil officiating.
