Obituary of Priscilla MacLean, Dominion

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our kind and loving mother, Priscilla MacLean on 12 September, 2022 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

 

Born in Glace Bay on 23 October, 1946, Priscilla was the daughter of the late Joseph and Emma Murphy.

 

A kind and generous woman with an infectious laugh she always put her family’s needs before herself. She was an active volunteer in the community for many years, such as her membership in the Ladies Hawk’s Club. She enjoyed darts, playing cards and dancing with her husband. Her biggest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. 

 

She is survived by her sons, Vance (Jodi), Mark (Linda) and daughter Allyson (Jon), grandchildren, Riley, Dawson, Zachery, Cullen, Aidan, Mitchell, Liam and Nora, sisters, Barbara (Gary), Donna, brother, Jackie (Inez), sister-in-law, Tina (Omar) and brother-in-law, Sandy and numerous nieces and nephews whom she adored.

 

Priscilla is predeceased by her loving husband and best friend John, parents Joseph and Emma, brother, Joseph, sister, Sandra and brother in-law, Will. 

 

Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Glace Bay.

 

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, September 16th at The Immaculate Conception Church, Bridgeport, N.S at 11:00 a.m. followed by a private burial with family members. Fr. Dan Boudreau presiding.

 

Memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada and the Diabetic Association.
