Obituary of Brian Joseph MacEachern

Brian Joseph MacEachern New Waterford With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our father, brother, grandfather, Brian Joseph MacEachern, 61, at his sister’s home in New Waterford, on Wednesday, November 30, 2016. Born in New Waterford on January 1, 1955, he was the son of Jeanette (Pirotte) and the late Harold MacEachern. Brian was retired from the Reserves after 37 years. He also worked for the Cape Breton Regional School Board as a school bus driver. Brian was an active member of the Army Navy Air Force, Unit 217 New Waterford. He was also a member of the New Waterford Legion. Brian was a member of the veteran bike club and also will be sadly missed by the Defender he truly enjoyed his time spent with his biker friends. He is survived by his wife, Karen ; his three sons, Brian (Jennifer), John Michael (Alora ) and Robert (Michelle) his three daughters, Maggie ,Ann Marie (Adam), Shirley; brothers, Terry (Val), Bernie (Sharon), Michael (Janie), Harold; sisters, Evelyn Joanne (George), and Janet (Donnie) Campbell and his eleven grandchildren whom he cherished and by numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his father, he was predeceased by brothers, Bradley and Glenn. Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 2, 2016 from 2-4 and7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. A funeral mass of celebration will take place Saturday, December 3, at 1 p.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue, with Father Ray Huntley officiating. Cremation will follow. Immediately following the funeral mass. A luncheon will be held at the Army Navy Air Force Unit 217, New Waterford. Burial will be held at a later date in Mount Carmel Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the New Waterford Legion. Special thanks to his best friends, Gerald Bois and Jimmy Gillis who were there for him.
