Obituary of Daniel "Danie" Alexander Cote, Glace Bay

We regret to announce the passing of Danie Cote on Friday, October 7, 2022 at the Palliative Care Unit (CBRH), Sydney.

Born July 31, 1938 in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Louis and Sarah (McLean) Cote.

Danie was a member of the Air Force from 1955-1958 and worked for the Province of Nova Scotia Assessment Office, retiring in 1993.

Danie was predeceased by his parents, wife Eunice (MacNeil) in February 2022, siblings Bill, Francis, Arthur, Louis, Father Joe Cote and Rita (MacDonald), brothers-in-law Eric (Colleen), Bernard (Judy), and sister-in-law Jean (Lou) Buckland.

Danie is survived by sisters-in-law Carmen, Cassie, and Leone (Trainor), many nieces and nephews, grand-nephew Ryan MacNeil, friends and neighbours Annie Smith, Cathy Sampson, and Dave McCormick, and his beloved cat Shamus.

Special thanks to Sheila and Walter Sweet for their dedication in making sure Danie had everything he needed for the past several years, the V.O.N and Home Care.

Cremation has taken place. The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 14th, 2022 at 11 a.m. followed by a reception, all in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. Interment in St. Anne's Cemetery. Fr. Norman MacPhee presiding.
