Iris Henry, Scotchtown

Obituary of Iris Agnes Henry, Scotchtown

Iris Henry (Hutchison) , 63, of Scotchtown, New Waterford, Cape Breton, passed away on November 3, 2022 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

Iris was born in Scotchtown to Evelyn Gillis and John Hutchison on August 10,1959. She had various jobs throughout her life such as working in the kitchen at the Savoy and owning a cafe, but her most favourite job of all was being a Mom to her three children and a Nannie to her grandchildren. Her friends and family were the most important parts of of her life and she always loved having people around, playing old country music, sharing stories and making memories. She made the best cabbage rolls, cinnamon rolls and potato salad. She enjoyed Bingo with her Bingo friends and going with her life partner, Robert. We have never met anyone that has won as many times as she has! You could count on Iris to have chocolate bars near by to share and a loving hug to give. She always looked so beautiful with her hair done, her many rings on and perfectly thought out outfits.

Iris is survived by her fiancée, Robert Desveau; children, Cindy Henry, Fabian Henry (Juliane Nowe), Nicholas Henry; grandchildren, Carter, Dawson, Fabian, Myra and Cole; siblings, Ken Hutchison, Mary Hutchison, Lloyd Hutchison, Heather Henry (Charles), Margaret McCulloch (Ron), Dolores Hutchison, Kimberly Macdonald, James Hutchison (Colleen); nieces and nephews, Ray, Kim, Angus, Shane, Evelyn, Farrah, Madelyn, Michelle, Joey, Katrina, Robyn, Christy, James, Jessica,  Keigan, Melanie, J.J., Sherry, Jennifer, David, Darryl, Rachel, Tara , Eric, Chuck, Chad, David, Lindsey, Jason, Frankie, Raylene, Robert and Sandy.
