Obituary of John James Allison, Glace Bay

John James Allison, 91, from Glace Bay, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

Born on July 18,1931, he was a son of the late John and Maria (Yorke) Allison.

John was employed by the Town of Glace Bay for many years and worked as the foreman of the Water Department. He was married to the love of his life, Teresa, for 67 years and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Surviving are his children, John (Elaine), Steve (Bernice), Francis (Barbara), Joseph (Susan), Mary (Glenn) Brennan and Leo; nine grandchildren and 10 Great-grandchildren,

Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his wife, Teresa, one grandson and several siblings.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of VJ McGillivray Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, Glace Bay. At John’s request, there will not be a service at this time.
