Obituary of Robert 'Bobby' Fahey, New Waterford

It is with profound sadness that the family of the late Bobby Fahey announce his passing on Tuesday, January 17th, 2023.

Born in New Waterford, he was a son of the late Frank and Ramona (Tighe) Fahey.

Bobby worked as a Pipefitter for 40 years with both 682 and 488 locals. He retired from Syncrude in 2018. Bobby resided in Fort McMurray for 20 years before returning back to his beloved Cape Breton.

The most important people in his life were his family and friends. He loved to spend time and travel with his wife, Andrea; they went together like peas and carrots. Bobby was an avid Toronto Maple Leaf fan and lived to watch and go to games with Jimmy, who shared his passion for sports. His favourite place to visit was at the lake with Kevin and the grandchildren. He spent many hours boating and fishing there; this was his Happy Place. Bobby was always either listening to music, singing or whistling and loved to have fun. His motto was 'you only live once' and he was always the life of the party. One of his favourite haunts was the Rack where he loved to have a beer and chat with all his buddies. You Betcha and Bing Bang Boom let’s getter done were the phrases he lived by. He loved everyone and will be deeply missed.

Bobby is survived by his wife and soulmate,  Andrea (Campbell) Fahey; sons, Jimmy (Kendra), Kevin (Laura); his grandchildren, Camden, Lincoln, Brody, Allie, and Ava; his beloved nephew, Frankie(Jennifer) Fahey.

He is also survived by his brothers, Wendell (Bertha), Darrel (Nicole); his sisters, Francine (Earl), Debbie (Dave); his brothers- in-law, Stan (Kelley), Paul (Patricia), Daniel (Jen); sisters-in-law, Betty (Roland) and Diane; his best friend, Sandy Campbell.

Besides his parents, Bobby was predeceased by his brothers, Frankie Fahey and Kevin Fahey; his mother-in-law, Lucy Campbell, and his brother-in-law, Andrew Campbell.

There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and guidance of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, New Waterford. A Funeral Mass of celebration will be held on Monday, January 23, 2023 at 10 a.m. in Parish Church of St. Leonard with Father Jim Oliver officiating.
