Sending condolences to all of Mac’s family. He played darts and was great friends with my father, Doogie MacDougall and my late mother, Cathy. Mac and Marie hold very special places in the hearts of my family and I will cherish the memories and stories I have been told, and will forever be grateful for the friendship they shared with my parents. Mac dropped in to see dad not too long ago when he was up for an appointment in Halifax and dad last visited him at his place just a couple months ago. So happy they were able to have a few laughs together. May he rest peacefully with Marie. With love from the MacDougalls.

John and I taught for years at BEC, he in room S12 and me in S13.
One funny story: we always joked about what a great job the librarian had e.g. read books, no marking or exams to correct etc. years later when I returned for some meeting or other being held in the BEC library, low and behold John is the librarian! So I mentioned our discussions years earlier and John’s comment was “it’s all true”.

I am so sorry to hear about John especially so soon after the loss of Agnes . It’s been a heartbreaking month for John’s children and his extended family. I remember all the BBQ’s our family shared with yours and our parents playing darts in the basement. Many great memories from our childhood. Mac and my Dad coaching us for youth darts for many years. He was truly a great man and mentor.

John was my High School Chemistry and was among my favorites.
I also had him my soccer coach and have great memories of him taking care of the team and coaxing the best from us.

Mr. MacLellan was one of those teachers that left a mark on his students in many ways. Thirty years into my own teaching career, I still recite his "Albert the Dunking Bird" explanation word for word to my own students. He made science fun and easy to grasp. My sincerest sympathies to the MacLellan family.
