Obituary of Dylan Chant, Glace Bay

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the sudden passing of Dylan Connor Chant, of Glace Bay on April 20, 2023, at the age of 27 years.

Dylan graduated from Glace Bay High School in 2013 and went on to become a heavy equipment operator, just like his father, Wayne Chant.

Dylan was a kind, gentle soul, who enjoyed helping others. He was known to be a loyal friend, a hard worker, and a lover of animals. He enjoyed watching hockey, cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs, and spending time with his beloved cats Cain and Abel.

Throughout Dylan's life, he made many lifelong friends who will remember him fondly. He treasured his memories with the avenue boys, air cadets, playing floor hockey, and going on family vacations.

He will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Patricia (Shaw) Chant, brothers, Garrett Chant (Jessica Dufour), and Michael Chant, and his maternal grandparents, Garfield and Jean Shaw. He will forever be remembered by his niece and nephew, Lily and Jack Chant. He will be greatly missed by his aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him deeply.

Dylan was predeceased by his loving father, Wayne Chant, and his paternal grandparents, Hilary and Mary Chant.
