He was called 'Friendly'....and he certainly was. Likely a name from the Pit. He was an ever present face on Sangaree and never missed a game of shoes behind Fred's cottage with Sly, Walter Hillier. RIP and condolences from the Matheson boys and our families.

In reading the obituary my memory goes back a long time from when I lived on Duggan Ave. I have vivid memories of Gordie. Even as a child myself, I saw him as a very good father and a very responsible person. He was always nice to us kids. He was a good person for the community as well. My prayerful support to you.

I remember him well as my Scoutmaster at The Salvation Army and then later on as a fellow leader when I was Cub and Scout Leader at St Agnes--it was his influence that led me to get my 3 bead Gillwell and to be involved in Scouting out here in the west and Northern Sakatchewan..a man I looked up to--one of the times I was home on holidays I made it a point to seeek him out (as well as Sid Burlock ) They were role models for me

Gordon Peckham was my neighbor and the father of one of my first childhood friends. He was always so kind and caring to the kids in the neighborhood. I especially enjoyed the backyard rinks that he would make each winter for us to skate on. He had a great smile and a warm laugh. He will be sadly missed by everyone that was lucky enough to know him. Rest in peace.

It is a sad day indeed as we say farewell to this fine gentleman and friend. I met Gordie back in the sixties when I was an employee at the Credit Union and to this day I have never had any reason to not be delighted each and every time our paths crossed. I know you are sad over this but rest assured that he is with our Loving Creator God. Thoughts and prayers are with you as you bid him a fond farewell. Gratefull to say I knew him and mom well and loved them both. Winnie Odo
