Obituary of Pauline Dorothy 'Polly' Power, New Waterford
It is with sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Pauline Power, 81, on Monday, May 15, 2023 at New Waterford Hospital.
Born in Dominion, she was a daughter of the late Roddie and Matilda 'Tillie' (McIsaac) Tomiczek.
In earlier years, Polly enjoyed playing darts in town with her group of friends. She was also an avid gardener who loved going to their place in Loch Lomond; where her flower display was often admired by passers by. Polly was fond of the simple things in life; sitting on her step watching the boats go by and getting together for family parties - she was known to have a great sense of humor and loved to laugh.
Surviving are sons, Stanley (Annette) Power, Patrick (Lisa) Power, both of New Waterford; brothers, Gregor (Elaine) Tomiczek, Victor (Norma) Tomiczek, both of Dominion; sisters, Queenie Gouthro, Ellen (Duck) MacAulay, both of Dominion, Shirley (Steven) Brown, Halifax; grandchildren, Tammy, Kristopher, Jonathan (Brianna), Brianne (Andrew); great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Piper, Xavier, Lomand, Brody and Connor.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Richard Charles Power; brothers, Bruno, Stan, Pat, Duddie, Murdock, John Michael, James and Walter; sister, Tillie.
A special thank you to the nursing staff and doctors on the 2nd floor of New Waterford Hospital for all the care and compassion shown towards Polly. It is truly appreciated.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel on July 7, 2023, at 11 a.m. with Deacon Lorne MacNeil officiating.
