Obituary of Louis 'Louie' Fiore

Louis Fiore New Waterford It is with deepest sorrow that we, the family, announce the unexpected passing of Louis Fiore, 86 of New Waterford after a brief illness on Saturday, December 24, 2016 in the Halifax Infirmary, Halifax. Born in Whitney Pier on March 31, 1930, he was the son of the late Giovanni and Jenny (Copan) Fiore. Louie was a steelworker for 38 years and also a former member of St. Agnes Church. Louie served as an altar boy for many years at St. Nicholas Church. He enjoyed going to the bungalow and loved fishing with his son Craig at their secret lake. He also enjoyed playing tarbish and crib at home as well as dancing at the pensioner club. He was an avid Blue Jays Fan and Toronto Maple Leaf Fan. Louie will be sadly missed by his friends at Tim Horton’s and at George’s Garage with the boy’s. Da was a kind, loving, generous and spiritual man will be certainly missed by all who loved him. He is survived by his daughter who lived with him in the family homestead, Karen (Hommy) Khalifa, New Waterford ; daughter, Gail Jollimore, Bridgeport, sons, Craig (Paulette), Glace Bay, Lorne (Sherry), Ont.; brothers, Emmanuel 'Bucky' Sives and Joseph Fiore. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren,4 great grandchildren. Beside his parents Louie was predeceased by his wife, Carmella MacLeod, sons, David Louis and Duane; sisters ,Josephine Lemieu, Amelia McLeod Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 29 from 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. A funeral Mass will take place in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue, on Friday, Dec. 30 at 10 a.m. with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at St. Leonard's Parish Hall, Convent Street, New Waterford.
