Obituary of Rose Patricia MacLeod, Sydney and Dominion

It is with a heavy heart, we announce the passing of our Mother Rose Patricia (Tippie) MacLeod, 83 yrs, on Thursday, June 15, 2023, in Sydney, NS. 

Rose was born in Glace Bay & raised in Dominion, NS where she raised her family. Rose was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who was always there for those she loved. She was a kind and gentle soul who was always willing to lend a helping hand. Rose was passionate about playing cards, dancing and telling stories of years gone by. 

She is survived by her loving children, Belinda (Edward), Rodney (Angela), sister Martine (Clarence); grandchildren Eugene, Mark, Luke, Allison, Abigail, and great granddaughter Onyx. 

Predeceased by her parents, Leonard and Amy McPherson, children Mary in infancy and Valerie and her special friend Carl Oakley. 

Rose will be remembered for her generous spirit and her love of life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her at “The Highrise” and the “Backroader” crew from Dominion, NS

Funeral arrangements entrusted to V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay where visitation will be held on Thursday from noon until 1:45pm followed by a service in the chapel at 2:00pm, with Fr Dan Boudreau officiating. Burial will be in St. Eugene’s cemetery, Dominion.
