Obituary of Sarah Mitilda MacDougall

Sarah Matilda "Tillie" MacDougall 87, Glace Bay We, the family of Matilda Sarah (Tillie) MacDougall, age 87 are saddened to announce her passing on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Seaview Manor, Glace Bay where she resided for the past 5 years. Tillie was a former resident of No. 11, Glace Bay. Born in Dominion, Nova Scotia on September 16, 1929, Sarah was the daughter of the late Allan and Mary (MacLean) MacPhee. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister; she was blessed with tremendous faith and took great pleasure attending St. Anthony Church. Sarah was an avid bowler, bowling statistician and walker for most of her adult life. Even through her years with dementia, a drive to Neville Street always sparked a memory of her time spent there. Sarah is greatly missed by all who knew her. Sarah is sadly missed by daughters, Carol (Les) Muise, London, Ontario, Nancy (Donald) McNeil, Glace Bay and Janet (John) Eyking, Boularderie, 10 grandchildren, Angela, Sara, Vanessa, Genevieve, John, Steven, Chris, Britanny, Darrion, Ryan and 10 great grandchildren, sisters, Mary Catherine and Ann (Vince), Florence (Eddie), brothers, Francie (Viola), Nelson (Lorraine), Eddie (Cathy) and special god daughter, Tanya. Besides her parents, Sarah was predeceased by her husband, John, her son, Joey, sister, Olive and brothers, Michael, Alex, Carl, Elmer, Joey, Jackie and Little Eddie. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. There will be no visitation by request. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Bridgeport with Father Norman MacPhee officiating. A reception will follow in the parish hall. Special thanks are extended to the wonderful and compassionate staff of Seaview Manor, Glace Bay.
