Obituary of Patricia Yvonne Went

Patricia "Tishie" Yvonne (Powell) Went 52 Sydney / Dominion Patricia Yvonne Went, age 52 passed away suddenly at her residence in Sydney on Tuesday, December 27, 2016. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late George and Shirley Yvonne (Timmons) Powell of Dominion. In her younger years, Patricia was employed at the Glace Bay Fish Plant. She was a kind and gentle mother who loved her son dearly. Patricia was also a lover of animals. She is survived by the love of her life, her son, Michael Dupe Jr., nine siblings, Mary Ann Gouthro, Georgina Tucker, George Powell, Shirley Vivian, Stephen Joseph Powell, Wayne Powell, Donna (Powell) Cox, Cory Powell, Samantha Paul, sixteen nieces and nephews, Amanda, Tiffany, Christle, Holly, James, Rebecca, John Kevin, Amy, Emily, Wade, George, Billy Joel, Austin, Alyssa, Cassidy and Carson. Patricia is also survived by eleven great nieces, nephews, god child, Devon Hart, Michael Juniors dad, Michael Dupe Sr., Michael Juniors grandparents, Harvey and Joan Dupe and Patricia’s sister in law, Elaine Riley and best friends, Mary & Eric Stockley and Diane Burns. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017 from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. The funeral service officiated by Lay Minister Martha MacDonald is Thursday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Cremation to follow with interment in Chalmers United Cemetery, Ocean Avenue, Dominion. Donations in Patricia’s memory may be made to your local S.P.C.A.
