Obituary of M. Sandra Simper, Sydney

It is with heavy hearts we, the family, announce the peaceful passing of M. Sandra (Simms) Simper, 77, on August 9, 2023 in the An Cala Palliative Care Unit at Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

Born in Sydney on Jan. 29, 1946, Sandra was a daughter of the late Harold and Dolena (Graham) Simms. She had a diverse business career. Sandra enjoyed many crafts and mastered them all.

She is survived by her only child, Tanya Leigh (at home); her sister, Margo; brothers David (Donna) and Graham; niece, Danielle (Robert) Boudreau.

Besides her parents, Sandra was predeceased by her husband, Allan Simper and her furry best friend, Dawson.

We would like to thank the staff of Palliative Care and Dr. M. Keating for their exemplary care of Sandra.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, New Waterford. As per Sandra's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to the Terry Fox Research Institute.
