Obituary of Carolyn Ann Murphy, Reserve Mines

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carolyn Ann Murphy 70, of Reserve Mines, Nova Scotia on Thursday, September 28^th, 2023 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney with family by her side.

Carolyn was the daughter of the late Wilson “Rory” & Rita Josephine (MacQueen) Murphy. She was extremely passionate about her family and loved spending time with all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carolyn loved anything outdoors where she could be soaking up the sun enjoying everything life offered her.

She is survived by siblings, Wilson (Anita) Murphy, Parker (Winna) Murphy, Ruby (Joey) Mackie, Nancy (Lenny) Treige, Dolena Murphy and Lindsay Murphy.

Carolyn is also survived by her grandchildren, Kelsey, Rebecca, Nathan, Cheyenne, Shelby, Sawshaa, Seira, and other grandchildren as well as being survived by her three great granddaughters, Bobby Jo, Genevieve and Layla, many nieces and nephews and special friends, Bev Murray, Heather Bert and Judy Jacques.

Carolyn was predeceased by her daughter, Bobby Jo McNeil, sons, Tyler McNeil and Chuck Murphy, sisters, Cheryl Murphy and Little Rita and brother, Jimmy Murphy.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, Glace Bay. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 6^th, 2023 at 2 pm in Warden United Church on Fifth Street, Glace Bay. Rev. Alison Etter officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Cape Breton Cancer Centre.
