It is with sadness that the family of Thomas Handlen Ross, 75, announce his passing on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023, at home.

Born in New Waterford Feb. 20, 1948, he was a son of the late Thomas Handlen and Agnes (Corrigan) Ross.

Thomas was a Sheet Metal worker, Local 56,  for over 50 years throughout Cape Breton. He loved being in the woods; hiking, fishing, snow shoeing or birdwatching. 

Surviving are his wife, Jeanette (MacDonald); daughter, Naomi (Donald) Ross, New Waterford; sons, Vaughn (Shannon) Ross, Main a dieu, Adam (Julie) Ross, Red Deer, AB; sister-in-law, Betty Ross; grandchildren, Noah Thomas Mugford, Hallie Ross, Kylie Ross, Quinn Mugford; many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Thomas was predeceased by brothers Harvey and Bobby; sister-in-law, Jackie Ross.

There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held on Friday, Oct. 27, 2023 at 1 p.m. in V.J.
