Obituary of Charles "Buddy" Gregory Boudreau, Dominion
It is with profound sadness that we, the family, announce the peaceful passing of our son, and brother, Charles Gregory “Buddy” Boudreau. After a brief illness his journey ended in the palliative care unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on Sunday, December 10th, 2023, at the age of 55 years.
Buddy lived a happy life full of love and music and was happiest while spending his time at home with his loving parents. Buddy also loved family gatherings, especially birthdays and Christmas. He always looked forward to his yearly visit from Santa Clause, and the Dominion Volunteer Fire Department.
During the summers, through the years, Buddy enjoyed going for drives and camping with his family. He brought joy to everyone that knew him and loved his special neighbors and friends, “The Dauphinees”.
Buddy is survived by his parents, Charlie and Kay (Bishop) Boudreau, brother Daryll (Kathleen Mullins), sisters Danielle (Wayne) MacLellan, Rochelle (Gary) Hickey, and MaryBeth (Jeff) Livingston. Buddy also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and Godfather, Mickey Brown.
Buddy is predeceased by paternal grandparents Daniel and Vange Boudreau, maternal grandparents, Jack and Mary Lizzie Bishop, many aunts and uncles, and Godmother, Kathy MacKinnon.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who was involved in Buddy’s treatment during the past week. The compassion shown by the paramedics, staff of the ER, 4D, and the palliative care unit, including Dr. Doyle and Dr. Kelly will never be forgotten. We would also like to thank Buddy’s family Doctor, Jennifer Lange, and the staff of Dominion Pharmasave for his exceptional care throughout the years.
Cremation has taken place and visitation will be held on Friday, December 15th, at V.J McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
The funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 16th at 11 am in Immaculate Conception Church in Bridgeport with Father Daniel Boudreau officiating.
