Obituary of John Wayne Mombourquette, Dominion

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John Wayne Mombourquette of Dominion on Dec. 18, 2023. Born July 4,1953 in New Waterford, he was the son of Marie and the late Joseph Mombourquette.

Wayne was a very quiet, unassuming man by all who knew him. Leaving New Waterford at an early age, he settled in Halifax where he spent many happy years. Wayne also lived for a number of years in North Carolina. However, his Cape Breton roots brought him home to Big Pond and  finally Dominion.

He is survived by his mother, Marie; sisters, Shirley Leblanc (Cheticamp), Paula(Gregg) MacNeil and Darlene Milley, both of NewWaterford.

Also left to mourn his loss is his son, Blair; grandsons, Matthew and Michael of Halifax, and Betty Bishop. 

Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, New Waterford, at a later date.
