I am very sorry Maureen. Jerry was such a genuinely nice and good man. I always appreciated him asking me to play little league so many years ago. We were both in Annie MacIntyre store (later, Bozo's Dairy) and I was happy to be asked. Jerry coached the Giants and we practiced in Mount Carmel Scool yard. I remember him telling us--paraphrasing here--not to be tapping the bat off the bottom of our spikes (sneakers) in imitation of the big leaders when batting up. Just concentrate and play the game. Although, I didn't stick with little league, Jerry's kindness stuck with me.
