Obituary of Colleen Poulain, New Waterford

It is with sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Marion Colleen Poulain, age 76, at the Maple Hill Manor on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023.

Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Theresa (McGillivray) Sullivan.

In earlier years, Colleen worked at the GI Plant in Sydney. She also volunteered a great deal of her time with the Canadian Counsel of the Blind. 

Surviving are her sons, Alexander 'Sandy' (Cecilia), Halifax and Trevor (Sharon), Windsor, NS; brothers, Joseph 'Butch' (Sandra), Clinton, Maryland, Thomas (Sherry), Terrance 'Terry' (Marie), both of New Waterford, Gerry (Candace), Brockville, ON, Howard (Angie); sister, Agnes (Willard) Roach, both of New Waterford; brother-in-law, David Harding, New Waterford; sister-in-law, Nancy Sullivan, Etobicoke, ON; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Poulain (Zach) and James Poulain; very best friend of over 60 years, Linda McIsaac.

Besides her parents, Colleen was predeceased by her partner, Harry Clarke; brother, John 'Tackers' and sister, Cecilia Harding. 

Thank you to the Maple Hill Manor for all the care they provided Colleen during her residency. We truly appreciate your compassion and professionalism. 

There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and guidance of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, New Waterford.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2024 starting at 1 pm at 3612 Wilson Avenue, New Waterford.
