It is with profound sadness, we announce the passing of Pius G. MacInnis, age 83, on Sunday, Jan.21, 2024 after a brief illness.

Born in Glace Bay, raised in Donkin, he was the son of the late Allan and Gertrude MacInnis.

Pius was a self-employed fisherman for over fifty years. Most will remember Pius as a kind, soft spoken gentleman and a friend to all.  

He is survived by one sibling of thirteen, Mary Young, Sydney.

Pius was predeceased by brothers, Joe, Dan Angus, Bernard, Vincent and Paul and by sisters Josephine, Annie, Agnes, Julia, Irene, and Cecelia.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay, where visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024, from 10 am until the time of service at 11am in the chapel with Fr. Norman MacPhee presiding. A light lunch will follow in the funeral home reception room.
