Obituary of Charles "Chad" Joseph Gracie, Glace Bay

It is with great sadness, that we announce the sudden passing of Charles Joseph “Chad” Gracie, age 57 of Glace Bay on Friday, February 2, 2024.

Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Charles Gracie Sr.

Chad was a fisherman by trade and was truly at home on the water. He  enjoyed playing darts on Tower Road.

He is survived by his daughter, Krystle Gracie (Christian MacDonald), son, Christopher Gelinas (Corallynn Marcotte), one sister, Brenda Newell-Gracie, two brothers, Jimmie and Kevin Gracie as well as five grandchildren, Nikale Dean-Gracie, Zachary Gracie-MacDonald, Charles Gracie-MacDonald Jr, Athena Gelinas, Dallas Gelinas.

Chad is also survived by his best friend, Art Pink.

There will be no services. As per his wishes, Chad’s cremated ashes will be scattered at sea. Memorial donations in memory of Charles Joseph “Chad” may be made to the cancer foundation.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, Glace Bay.
