Obituary of Allan Kenneth Taylor, Glace Bay, Calgary
Allan Kenneth Taylor “Hoppy”, 1971-2024, age 53 of Glace Bay passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on February 13, 2024 in Calgary, Alberta.
He was born January 14, 1971, in Glace Bay, NS to the late Harold E. and Catherine Taylor.
Like Many Cape Bretoner’s, Allan moved away at a young age to pursue work. He spent the last 6 years out west living in Calgary, working for the oil industry where he met his beloved partner, Marie Breton, of Dawson Creek, BC.
Allan was always smiling and could make anyone laugh. His heart was always in Cape Breton and he would spend as much time visiting as he could. He had a deep love for music, playing guitar and attending many of his favorite bands in concert, he always said he was never too old to be a metal head. When he had the time, he also enjoyed playing hockey and basketball.
He is survived by his sons, who he loved more than life, Jordan Taylor (Cape Breton), Devin Taylor (Ontario), Bronson Taylor (Ontario), his brother, Harold (Alice) Taylor, (Halifax) and sister, Ann Winters (late Peter Winters), (Cape Breton), beloved nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. Everyone he touched and loved deeply.
Please join us in celebrating his life Saturday, March 16, 2024 between 1pm and 3pm, at V.J. McGillivray’s Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay, NS.
