Obituary of Troy Christoff, Glace Bay
We are saddened to announce the unexpected passing of Troy Robert Christoff, age 54, of Glace Bay on Monday, April 29, 2024.
Troy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, watching his favorite movies, working in his "shed" and listening to music and loved to play his guitar. Troy was happiest in his shed, tinkering and working with his beloved tools. From a young age, Troy had a passion for cars and spent many evenings building models of his favorites. He was a lifetime fan of Elvis Presley, and enjoyed collecting memorabilia. Many of us will fondly remember his "Troyisms" and wicked sense of humor. He was a friend to all and maintained many of his childhood friendships into his adult life. Troy could often be found with his canine companion, Mindy, by his side, who he watched TV with nightly.
Troy was the son of John Christoff and the late Diane (Boutilier) Christoff. He is survived by his wife, Ann Musial; daughters, Brittany (Eric Ley) and Becca (Hilary Bennett), and the mother of his daughters, Alice Christoff; stepchildren, Brian (Michelle) and Jodi (Donnie) Boone; grandchildren, Jonathan, Dylan, Hanna, Keegan and Isaac; siblings, Charlotte (Brian) Shaw, Jimmy Christoff, and sister-in-law, LeeAnn; nephews and niece, Matt (Bethany) Shaw and Jimmy (Jenna) Zoey, Zac, Darra (JD) Lilly and Charleigh; his closest friends, Allan House, Bruce Callaghan and Billy Boutilier.
Troy was predeceased by his loving mother, Diane (Boutilier) Christoff.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay, where visitation and a celebration of his life will take place on Thursday from 7-9 pm, and a funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. with lay minster, Alister Moore officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. A reception will follow in the funeral home reception area.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Troy’s memory may be made to the S.P.C.A.
