To the Milley Family
There are no words to express our sadness for your family at this very difficult time. Laurie was a shining light , full of love and life and was loved immediately by those that had the pleasure of being in her company. She reminded me most of Aunt Mary Ellen , down to earth and a strong independent woman . ..with a smile that lit up the room. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you all as you grieve a beautiful sister. Fly high Laurie

Dear Flo, Isabel and all of Lauries family,
Once again death has touched your family. To lose one person is a lot, to lose many people is not an easy experience at all. I met Laurie a couple of times, she seemed to be so full of life and was willing to share of herself even by being present to people. As you prepare to gather to celebrate her life...please know that I am with you and will support you any way I can
In sympathy and prayer
Sr.Catherine Ann

Dave, Milley clan and Families
We are sorry for your loss. It is still hard to believe that Laurie is gone. She was a beautiful person who touched so many people. Like many others I enjoyed reading all the kind words for our dear friend.
Laurie was so strong and confident and caring. She was so good to so many people. Just a few that come to mind are Ansie, Rose, Maureen and just lately; Frances; when they all needed her the most. I think of Laurie, Bonnie and Maureen landing at my place just hours after Carlie died. She told her Gordie LeDrew road trip story trying to get out of Halifax and home to New Waterford for Christmas. She came to be with me and my girls on the worst day of our lives. We will never forget that.
I think of the April 16th in 1980 or 81 when Laurie and I tipped a canoe in the freezing cold Fox Point Lake. We clung to the canoe before being spotted and saved by a person across the lake. Florence thought we had drowned that day.
Laurie packed a lot of good times and good deeds and much laughter into her all too short 67 year lifetime. She will never be forgotten by all of us who loved her so much.

Laurie, even though you were the youngest of the "Milley Sisters", you taught all of us some very important life lessons. By far the most important was that we should live life immediately, always, and to the fullest--which is exactly what you did. Even in your last days you were so stoic and brave--and so much like Ma(she would be so proud of you!!)--giving us all that very important message one more time. My heart aches when I realize I will never be able to see you or talk to you again, rant to you like I could not to anyone else, just run something by you, or to confide my deepest thoughts to you not just as a sister but as a loyal and trusted friend. You have been an amazing sister and Isabel and I will hold you in our hearts forever and treasure all the memories of time we have shared with you. Rest in peace Laurie--"Ya' done good, by"!!
Love always,
Florence

I am so deeply sorry for your loss.
Although we didn't grow up in the same neighbourhood,we seemed to have shared many experiences. Mt Carmel,Camp Carmel, basketball teammates,BEC classmates,as well as many adventures, during our days in Alberta.
