Obituary of William "Billy" Kevin Martin, Glace Bay

It is with shattered hearts, we the family, regret to announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, William “Billy” Kevin Martin, age 67 on Tuesday, June 11^th, 2024 in the Glace Bay Hospital.

Born in Glace Bay, Billy was the son of the late William Henry and Margaret (Boone) Martin.

Billy was previously employed with Devco, Woodland Home Building Centre and Still Strong Burner Service where he retired from in 2022. He was an avid little league coach and a member of Ring 73 Boxing Club, Glace Bay. Billy loved travelling on his motor bike. He will be remembered as a very kind and compassionate man who was well liked by many.

Left to mourn his passing are is wife, Kathy (MacLeod) Martin, sons, Jason (Corrie), Christopher (Kate), William (Jade), Kayla, Ricky (Tamara), grandchildren, Laura, Braden, Rylan, Arlo, Atticuse, Maeve, Aliviah, Jaxon, Ricky, Cole whom he treasured dearly.

Also surviving is his brother, Paul (Liz), brothers in law, Lorne (Annette), Brent (Corrie), George (Tricia), many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Billy was predeceased by his first wife, Debbie (Strong) Martin in 2004, brothers, Harry, Ronnie, Leo, Fabe, Bob, sisters, Rita, Mel, Mary, Cecilia, Eileen and Kaye.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 17^th at 11 am in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay with Fr. Macleen Anyanwu presiding.

Memorial donations in memory of Billy can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
