Obituary of Marie Rose Currie, Glace Bay

It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of Marie Rose Currie, age 70 of Glace Bay on Saturday, June 15^th, 2024 in the Glace Bay Hospital.

Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Marcel & Violet (Hannon) Voyez.

Marie was employed at the Glace Bay Fish Plant, General Electric and upon moving to Ontario, she started working with Quick Cable in Mississauga. She will be remembered as a good person with a feisty nature and a great love for her Boston Pug, “Bear”.

Marie is survived by her husband, Doug Willerton, sons, James (Melissa), Glace Bay, Danny (Tracey), Glen, ON, daughter, Cindy (Paul), ON, sister, Elsie, ON, brother, Theodore Voyez, Glace Bay, grandchildren, Jessica, Justina, Buddy, Titus, Porter, Hailey, Morgan, great grandchildren, Gabriel, Maliya, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents, Marie was predeceased by her brother, Edward and her sister, Carol.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, Glace Bay. A private interment will be held in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney.
