In David’s younger years he worked at the fish plant in Glace Bay and at General Instruments before embarking on a 30 yr. career at Sydney Steel Plant, beginning in the yard, then on to the Blast Furnace, and after upgrading his education and skills advanced his title to machinist and retired with a small machine shop of his own at home.
David leaves behind his dear wife of 55 years, Annie Lorraine 'Ann' MacAskill-Tutty; two children, a daughter, Paula Tutty of Glace Bay and a son, David (DJ) Tutty (Charlene), Glace Bay; six precious grandchildren, Jessica, Devon, Mallory, Tyler, Reece, and Jersey, and a great grandson Caiden, who was his bestest little fishing buddy.
David is also survived by his brother, Stanley ‘Buddy’ (Gloria) Tutty, Greenwood, and Michael (Eva) Tutty, Norway.
At the time of his death, David was also surrounded by very dear longtime friends, Aaron and Denise Dean, and Jeff and Tiffany Fadder who are more like family, and also members of his spiritual family of Jehovah's Witnesses, Barry and Noreen Nygard. Thank you for your strength and support for our family.

Special thanks to Dr Ellekar, Dr McLauchlan, and Respiratory therapist Thomas, and the absolutely amazing nursing staff on 3rd West, GBGH, who took such wonderful care of David during his stay.
Much appreciation to the many visitors who came to see him during his month long stay in 3 West, too numerous to name, and a special thanks to Mr. Earl Sampson, a fellow patient, for your wonderful company and spending evenings sharing nostalgic stories about the old days.
