Obituary of Rose Marie Hallett, Glace Bay
It is with great sadness, that we the family announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Rose Marie Hallett on July 13th, 2024 surrounded by her loving family at the QE2 Health Science Center in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Born in Glace Bay, February 24th, 1944 to Ellen Frances Moore, Rose was raised by her loving grandparents, William and Agnes Moore.
Rose met and married the love of her life Willard. Over the next 60 years they built a life together of family love and cherished memories.
She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Willard, daughters, Carolyn (Wayne), Brenda (Allan) and Darlene (Greg), grandchildren, Liam, Joshua, Lucas, Emily, Megan, Ryan, Graham and Michaela and great grandchildren, Bentley and Peyton.
Rose was predeceased by her mother and grandparents, sister, Frances and brother, Paul, her special yellow buddy, Spike, and her special aunt, Teresa , as well as members of the Comer family who meant so much to mom. We know they were awaiting her arrival with open arms.
She was most content when she was surrounded by her family. Family was everything to Rose. In her younger years you would hear her speaking constantly of her daughters and how proud she was of each of them. Her sense of pride then continued as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were born, she always wanted to tell the world how amazing they were.
Rose was a dedicated wife and loved spending time together with her husband. They shared many evening drives that consisted of sipping on a cup of tea and quite often a Sundae from McDonalds. They watched a vast amount of sports together, and we are quite certain mom knew about the players more than Dad did at times. They lived a life together of unconditional love.
The best way to describe her was absolutely amazing. We will love her forever, and miss her always.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 17th from 6 pm to 9 pm in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay.
The funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 am in St. Anne’s Church, Glace Bay with Fr. Macleen Anyanwu presiding. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
