To Anne and Family,
please accept my and Sharon's condolences on Jackie's passing. Words alone cannot describe this man, as he was a true gentleman, kind heart and easy going. I know he loved fishing as he was always tying flies.
I had the opportunity of knowing with Jackie on the Glace Bay Fire Dept. for 12 years from 1974 to 1986, where he was always a driving force to making improvements in equipment and a big part of the building fund, which resulted in the new fire station. He always had time for a new rookie and took me and others under his wing to become efficient and hard working fire fighters.
God Bless you Jack and may he give you the peace and rest you so justly desrve.

My deepest condolences to Jack's family. I first met Jack as a teenager hanging around New Waterford Rink when he was with his brother Pat during roller skating season. We would go over to GB once in a while and we were always met with a welcome from Jack. He was a very nice gentleman. I have nothing but respect for the Neary family. My dad and Jack crossed paths on many conventions, as he was Fire Chief in New Waterford and always spoke highly of Jack and the GB Fire Department. RIP Jack.

So sorry to hear about Jackie. Like many, I grew up at the forum so, basically, I grew up with Jack. I have so many fond memories of him, from letting me on the ice alone (usually in the dark) when it wasn't being used, to hiring me at the forum on a grant, to being in a Halifax hospital together. Jack was a gentleman, a leader, a role model and just a genuine nice guy. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and many, many friends. Rest In Peace Jack.
