Obituary of Candace Rose Henry, Scotchtown
It is with great sadness that the family of Candace Rose Henry announces her sudden passing on August 26, 2024 at the age of 41. Born June 29, 1983, she was the daughter of Jimmy and Leona (Deruelle) Henry of Scotchtown.
Candace also leaves behind her beautiful daughter, Cari, whom she cherished and her partner, Jerry McEachern. She will also be deeply missed by her older sister, Juanita (Henry) Parris; brother-in-law, Nathan; niece, Lilly (who adored Auntie C and looked up to her).
She will also be missed by her daughter Cari’s grandfather, Jerry McEachern Sr.; Cari’s Aunt,Tanya; cousins, Jessie, Autumn and Quinn. She also has many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly, especially her closest cousin ,Tiffany.
Candace is predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Leo and Anne (Feit) Deruelle and her paternal grandparents, Charles and Mary (Gardiner) Henry and also Cari’s paternal grandmother, Ann (Donahue) McEachern.
Candace lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed camping, 4-wheeling, hiking, and enjoyed spending time at The Cove.
Candace always put her family first and was never more than a phone call away. She loved family gatherings and Sunday suppers at her parents.
Her one true love was being around kids and she turned that love into a career working as an ECE at Playschool Daycare, New Waterford.
Candace didn’t have acquaintances, she had friends.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Aug. 29 from 6-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. A Funeral Mass of celebration will take place on Friday, Aug. 30 at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Ave., with Father Godwin Obike officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, New Victoria with a reception to follow at the Army, Navy, Airforce, Unit 217, New Waterford.
