To the family
I got to know Ambrose when I was a student at RHS in the late 80's and where he also worked with my father, Bill Kyte. Years later, I was so fortunate to get to know him a bit better when I was a substitute teacher with CBVRCE. I was tasked with a substitute circuit art position for a period of time and Ambrose was the principal of one of my schools, New Victoria Elementary. He was so kind to me and you never forget those compassionate and caring gestures, even many years later.
Most recently, I had the pleasure of doing a bit it of work with Ambrose when he was superintendent and nothing had changed from my original working days with him. He was as kind and compassionate in 2010 as he was when I worked with him in 1995.
My thoughts and prayers are with you as you mourn the deep loss of your partner and father. Know in your grief the positive effect he had on so many of us over the years.
Sincerely,
Darlene Kyte

Ambrose was my principle when I was at New Victoria Elementary School & my Grade 5 teacher in 1998. He left us with some great memories and will be missed! :)

Our sincere condolences to the White family from the Cape Breton Sport Hall of Fame. Ambrose's vast knowledge of the sport history of Cape Breton and his ability to assess impartially the merits of those nominees for induction into the Hall were invaluable to the Selection Committee. The time and consideration he gave to us, and indeed to every endeavour of which he was a part, are very much appreciated. He will be missed, not just by us, by this community and those whose lives he touched. We are grateful for his caring!

Dearest Marilyn and family,
I was so saddened to hear of the passing to the Lord of Ambrose. Back in High School , he demonstrated, leadership and friendship to many. Although he was quiet, even then I knew he would do great things in the future. I still can picture his mischievous smile but especially his goodness to his fellow classmates.
The obituary certainly captures the “good guy” that he was all his life. People are better for having known and loved Ambrose. I am sending prayer support friendship and condolences to you Marilyn and your children. May you all receive whatever grace you need to move forward and remember all the good times you had together for 40 years. I will celebrate Mass for Ambrose and you on Friday. Hugs , Fr. Gerry White, classmate and friend who admired Abs’ goodness. Blessings!
