Obituary of David "Dave" Bruce Walker, Glace Bay, Kingston, NS

David "Dave" Bruce Walker, 72, of Glace Bay passed away peacefully on Friday, 20^th, September 2024 at the VG Hospital in Halifax NS. 

Dave was born in Glace Bay on 29^th, January 1952 to Eugene "Gene" Walker (Glace Bay) and Gladys (Lambert), Newfoundland. 

Dave attended school in Glace Bay where he graduated from Saint Michael's High School in 1972.  Dave married the love of his life, Frances Stephanie (Steph) Burke on 10^th, January 1976 in Glace Bay. 

Dave worked at the Stelco Steel Plant in Hamilton, Ontario until 1976, upon arrival back in Cape Breton, Dave worked as a painter for Burke and Chaisson before being hired at NS Power where he worked until his retirement in 2012.  

Dave was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Robert "Bob" Walker (Lynne), Jarvis, Ontario. 

Dave is survived by his wife of 48 years, his children, Chad (Mandi), David (Jaime), Keri Lynn (Shane), his brothers, Wayne, Merle (Lillian), sisters, Elaine (Alf) and Helen, his grandchildren, whom he adored, Emily, Cole, Mason, Jack, Anna, Haydn, Madden and Callie.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Friday evening, September 27^th from 7-9 pm in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay.

The funeral service is Saturday, September 28^th at 11 am in the funeral home chapel. Reception to follow. Fr. Norman MacPhee presiding.
