Obituary of Charlotte Ann Brushett, New Waterford

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the death of our cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, Charlotte Ann Brushett, 73, of New Waterford. After a short but fearless battle with cancer, Charlotte passed away peacefully on October 2, 2024, surrounded by family at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital in Sydney.

Charlotte was born in New Waterford, the daughter of the late Henry Roach and Mary (MacKinnon) Roach on August 28, 1951. She worked as a Cashier for Bud’s Dairy for over a decade in the 80’s and 90’s and then took a break to raise her children with her husband. She returned to work in the 2000's and worked for Needs Convenience in Scotchtown for 16 years. The most important thing to Charlotte was her family. She will be fondly remembered for her astounding love for her family and friends, as well as her ability to talk to anyone and everyone.

Charlotte is survived by her husband, Wayne Brushett of New Waterford; son, Michael Brushett; daughter, Meghan (John) Brushett; granddaughter, Eva Brushett; sisters, Mary Roach, Ellen (Dirk) David, Charlene (Frannie) Cameron; brothers, Henry (Jane) Roach Jr., Joseph Roach, Charles Roach, David (Cheryl) Roach, and multiple nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her father, Henry Roach Sr. and mother, Mary (MacKinnon) Roach.

There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Duncan Roach officiating. Reception will follow in the funeral home.
