We, the family of Miss Betty, regret to announce her peaceful passing on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at R.C. MacGillivray Guest Home, Sydney.

Born August 28, 1934 in New Waterford, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Josephine (Muir) Stepaniak.

Miss Betty had a great love of life, an infectious smile and a bubbly personality that will surely be missed by all who knew her. Love of family meant everything to her. She retired after many years of employment at Maple Hill Manor, New Waterford, and she enjoyed time spent growing her gardens.

Surviving is her son, Ernie; daughters, Cynthia (Bryan), Celeste (Ronnie), Cheryl (Greg), Charlene (Lonnie), Tara Lynn (Abe); daughter-in-law, Cherie; brother, Blair; grandchildren, Eddy (Corrine), Naomi (Joe), Scotia (Kevin), Rance (Brianna), Bobby Lynn, Tristan, Tylor (Samantha), Bryce, Renee (Chad), David (Kelly), Jacklyn; 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Lester; son Eddy; brothers, Ernie and Raymond “Kippy”.

As per Mom's request, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, New Waterford. A Funeral Mass and celebration of life will take place at a later date and Miss Betty will be laid to rest with her husband in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
