With deepest sadness and broken hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Sandra Scott, RN age 87 of Glace Bay on Tuesday, October 15th, 2024 in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

Born in Glace Bay, Sandra was the daughter of the late William & Margaret Muir.

Mom was a dedicated nurse until her retirement. After retiring mom took up gardening and her and dad opened Scott’s Green House, where more plants were given away than sold.

Mom loved spending time with her two granddaughters and teaching them many of her hobbies.

She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mom is survived by her daughter, Krista Grace Scott, two sons, David Bruce Scott (Jane), William Stan Lee Scott (Joyce), two grandchildren, Davlyn, Tillie, niece, Earleen Aucoin and her sister-in- law, Carol Scott.

Besides her parents, Mom was predeceased by her loving husband, Bruce Scott and her siblings.

Mom will be forever loved and missed, but knowing her and dad are reunited is a blessing.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that a donation be made to Palliative Care Unit at the CBRH, Sydney. Thank you to all the doctors and nurses on the Palliative Care Unit. Your kindness will never be forgotten.

Also from our family, we would like to express a special thank you to the caregivers who looked after Mom in her home for the past 3 years, your dedication, care and compassion was greatly appreciated.

Visitation will be held on Friday evening, October 18th, 2024 from 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay.

The funeral service officiated by Rev. Bonnie Wynn is Saturday morning, October 19th at 11 am in the funeral home chapel followed by interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
