It is with a great deal of sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, Mary Veronica (Sis) McDonald, who passed peacefully on October 20, 2024, at her residence in Ontario.

Sis was born in New Waterford on November 22, 1930.  She lived to see the passing of her parents and all of her siblings, her husband, Regis McDonald, her daughter, Debbie McDonald, her son, Neil McDonald (Irene), and her granddaughter, Shannon McDonald (daughter of Neil and Irene). 

She is survived by her daughters, Helen Blanchard (Pius), Sackville, NS, and Joy McCarron (Robert), Tottenham, ON, and her sons, Regis McDonald (Anne), Maron Bridge, NS, Stan McDonald (Sherry), Halifax, NS, and Tommy McDonald (Darlene), Lingan, NS. She is also survived by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Rod Abrams Funeral Home in Tottenham, ON.  A celebration of her life and burial of her remains next to her husband in New Waterford, will take place at a future date.

Mom was a woman of great strength, endurance, and humbleness.  She worked hard all of her life and sought nothing in return except the love of her family, which she received in abundance. She dedicated her life to raising her children and was most proud of what each of them accomplished in their lives. She was a doting grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother and we all miss her greatly.  We will remember all that she did for us. Love you Mom.
