It is with sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Nicholas Murdoch "Nick" McPherson on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2024 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. 

Born in New Waterford, he is the son of Rosalie McPherson.

Nicholas was a kind, generous, and good person. He went to St. Agnes from primary to grade 6 and Breton Education until grade 11. He graduated from Sydney Academy. 

Nicholas had many interests. He loved computers from a very early age. He even built his own and had a lucrative business going for a while. He was also called upon for computer repairs.

Nick took an on line course from MACTECH Distance Education after which he was employed there for five years. Soon after, he worked for a computer company that provided him with a vehicle and he travelled far and wide on this island helping people with their computers.

Nick also loved playing darts, golfing, fishing, and driving (everything from a dirt bike, street bike, Mustang and his BMW). He loved to cook, but boy did it take a long time because he was so meticulous about everything.

He is survived by his mother, Rosalie; uncle, Donnie (Wendy) McPherson and first cousins, Donnie, Diane, and Bradley; aunt, Debbie (Carman) Hughes and first cousins, Darrell, Jonathan and Suzanne; great uncle, Danny (Donna) Ropek. He also leaves behind his very good friends, Gervais, Urban, Russell, Jay, Boogie, Aleshia, Taunya and Reggie along with a very large number of cousins. Also surviving are father, Anthony Syms and half sister, Jennifer Sinclair. 

Nick was predeceased by grandparents, Rosie and Murdoch McPherson.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 3 from 10 a.m until the time of the service at 11 a.m. all in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. Father Godwin Obike officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home. Donations in his memory may be made to the Nova Scotia SPCA: Cape Breton Shelter or Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton County.
