Heartfelt condolences, thoughts and prayers for Bruce’s family.
Reflecting on so many memories from our college days this week. Bruce was always a joyful, kind, caring person and so committed to his family and to his students. He and Helen hosted our wonderful 25th CCGC reunion in 2009. They were an inspiring couple.
It was a privilege to have kept in contact with Bruce throughout this past year.
Rest in Peace my friend and

My Condolences to the Marsh Family. Bruce and I went to the Coast Guard College together and sailed together for a few months on the old CCGS John Cabot. We always had a lot of fun when we were together. Whenever I would get new engineering cadets onboard I would ask if they had any classes with Mr. Marsh and they always answered with “yes and he’s the best!” A true testament to the kind of instructor and person Bruce was. He will be truly missed.

During my time at BEC I had the pleasure to teach Katie, David and Heather. I first met Bruce (and Helen) at a parent teacher, and immediately I felt he was someone I could talk to about numerous subjects besides the academic progress of his kids. Throughout the years I would run in to Bruce and Helen at different places and we always had quality conversations and a good laugh about something. He will be surely missed his family, friends, co-workers and anyone who had the pleasure to meet him.

I ran into Bruce sporadically through the years, and it was always so nice to see him. But I met and remember him best as a cast member in our high school production of, "The Music Man" in 1978, where he was one of the townsmen singing in the Barbershop Quartet, and I was Mrs. Paroo. He was always pleasant to talk to and made a memorable impression on me at the time. He just seemed so pleased to be part of the production. We danced together at the cast party. Don't know why I remember that, perhaps because it was like dancing with a kind, gentle bear. He really was a sweet soul. I mourn his passing and will remember him always. My condolences to his family. Sandy Anthony

Mr Marsh was hands down my favorite instructor in the CCGC engineering program. Knowledgeable, passionate and invested, he brought real world experience into the classroom through entertaining, and often hilarious stories. His mentorship often extended outside of the classroom as well. His presence will be felt through the many years of cadets he has trained now senior officers and leaders of the Coast Guard. He will be greatly missed by many. My deepest condolences to the Marsh family.

We are heartbroken to hear this very sad news. Bruce and I knew each other since grade 4. Plenty of hockey, ball hockey and hanging out. He was a top-notch defenseman, great gentleman and a very kind person even as a teenager. We would sometimes reconnect at reunions, Coal Bowl and chat on social media. He would light up any room he entered.

My sincere condolences to Bruce's family. I had the pleasure of sailing with Bruce who was a great engineer and shipmate. One time we brought the Sir William Alexander alongside the dock in Point Edward for the collage graduation. Bruce came to the ship with his class of engineering cadets, who soaked in every bit of information that he was dispensing. It is so much easier to understand something when you can see machinery in action and have it explained by someone who knows there stuff. It is sad for us left behind but now he is in the arms of Helen

My heartfelt condolences to Heather, David, Katie and the entire family.
Your father was one of the first friendly faces who greeted me when I started working at the College and was the first to cheer when I "switched sides", leaving DFO to come join him on the College team. Bruce taught me so much about Marine Engineering and ship maintenance. He was one of the easiest and kindest people to work with. He cared about people and making CCG the best organization possible. Nearing his retirement, he and I spent many hours, days and months crunching numbers, writing proposals, laughing and building his legacy - the College's Wartsila Engine Simulator. For your Dad, this project was truly a labour of love. His passion for the cadets and CCG was contagious and I was proud to work alongside him.
He will be dearly missed.
Thank you for sharing your father with us. May he fly high with the angels and Helen. ❤️
