Obituary of Priscilla Matilda Madore

Priscilla Matilda "Babe" Madore Glace Bay It is with heavy hearts that we the family of Priscilla "Babe" Madore, age 87, announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at the Glace Bay Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Glace Bay and a long time resident of North Street, she was the daughter of the late Talbot and Mary Florence (LeRoux) Butts. Babe was a resident of Seaview Manor since 2011. In her earlier years, Babe enjoyed playing cards and sitting around the kitchen table with her family and friends and going to card games at St. Leo’s Parish Hall with her husband, Joe. Babe is survived by her daughter, Darlane McKillop, Glace Bay, her son, Nolan Madore (Marion), Ft. McMurray, grandchildren, Shawn McKillop (Felicia), Danielle Sifnakis (James), Nicole Warren, Denette Madore and Colette Madore. Babe was a proud and loving great grandmother to Charles, Brea, Emma, Liam, Megan, Paulina, Riley, Grace and Connor. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews whom she loved dearly and her best friend, Brenda Somerton. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Joseph Madore, grandson, Michael Madore, sisters, Cora MacIsaac, Maisie McPhee, brothers, Daniel, Nolan and Major Butts. In Keeping with Babes wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, Glace Bay. There will be no visitation or funeral mass. Graveside committal prayers will be held at a later date in St. Leo’s Cemetery, Glace Bay. The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Ellerker and the staff of Seaview Manor for their compassionate care given to mom over the last 6 years. Donations in Babe’s memory may be made to the N.S.
