Obituary of Myles Gregory Boutilier, Glace Bay

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Greggy Boutilier, 65, at his home on April 9, 2017. Born in Glace Bay in 1952, he was the son of the late William O. and Ethel Mae (Wareham) Boutilier. Greggy was a hard worker, he spent many years working as a lumberjack, a fish plant worker in Louisbourg and he also spent many years as an assembly worker at North Air Windows until his retirement. Greggy was a great family man; a loving husband to his wife of 44 years, Donelda (MacKay) and he was a very dedicated father to his only son Greggy Jr., both of whom were truly his pride and joy. He was all about his family, he enjoyed long drives, walks with his wife and son, family gatherings, and camping out on the Mira. He also loved the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Blue Jays. He was proud of his family and loved them dearly. In addition to his wife Donelda and son Greggy, he will also be sadly missed by sisters Linda (Dan), Ontario and Elsie Mindach of Glace Bay; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents, Greggy was also predeceased by brothers, William “Sonny”, Donnie, Gordon “Allie”, Eddie, John “Bubby”; stepbrother Kevin and sister, Lois. Visitation will be held today, Wednesday, April 12, from 6-9pm, in V.J.McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. The funeral service with Fr. Norman MacPhee presiding will be held 2pm, Thursday in the Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation will follow with interment at a later date.
