My sincere condolences to the Somerton family.
As a close childhood friend and team-mate, Jerry was a natural at anything he put his mind to. When it came to sports, we were lucky to have him on our team because no matter what, he was always ready at game-time to lead the way. In reconnecting a few years ago, we enjoyed reminiscing about our Maritime Baseball Championships with the Dominion Hawks and Junior Hockey titles with the Glace Bay Miners.
Jerry always maintained a simple and happy-go-lucky approach in life. He was upbeat and never ended a sentence without a chuckle or two. He has left the world too soon and will be deeply missed!
