Obituary of Gloria (Manzine) Lynk, New Waterford

It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, Gloria Delores Lynk, in her 94th year, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, on May 11, 2017 with her family by her side.  

Ma, born and raised in New Waterford, was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (McNeil) Manzine.

In her younger years, Ma loved gardening, baking, and making great Italian meals. Every summer she looked forward to camping at Sangaree Island; she loved nature and all it had to offer.

She is survived by her sons, John (Darlene), Russell (Margie), Lennie (Sheila), Alex (Josie), Charles (Mary), and Kevin; daughters, Karen (Phil), Gloria (Nick), Judy (Boyd), Donna (Terry), and Mary (Byron); sister-in-law, June and brother-in-law, Eddie; 28 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.

Gloria was predeceased by her daughter, Kay (Tony); sons, Barry and Rodger; sisters, Margaret, Marie, Della, and Sadie. 

At her request, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. A graveside service will be held in St. Agnes Cemetery, New Waterford, at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to the An Cala Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
