I wish to offer my very sincere condolences to the family of Mr. Kennedy. I remember him so vividly from many years ago when he taught me at St.Agnes School. He was always one of my favourites and that is why his memory is so strong for me. He was kind and compassionate and truly cared. I was very lucky to rekindle a conversation with him only a few years ago. It was wonderful and made me wonder where the time had gone. To his family I am very sorry for your great loss. Mr. Kennedy soar with the angels and watch over all those your love.

Mike taught both my children and recognized their athletic talent early on. He nurtured that over the years and they both went on to excel in sports. They never forgot how encouraging Mike was when they were young and I swear that Mike never forgot a single student he ever taught for he greeted them warmly whenever their paths crossed. We celebrate Mike's life and all he brought to his students, schools and community. My sincere condolences on the loss of a truly wonderful man.

My thoughts are with the Kennedy family during this incredible loss. So many great memories from gym class as well as
Mike's encouraging words on the basketball court. Although some of my favourite memories were outside of the class room, "sneaking" cremesicles at the Kennedy Christmas parties and trick or treating at the Kennedy's during Halloween when Mike would give us the most random items like a potato or a boiled egg. A great loss to the entire community, he will be missed.

I was saddened by the news of Mr. Kennedy's passing. I always looked forward to his gym class during my elementary years. At the end of class, he would line us up for the bus and let us go two or three at a time. If you were the unlucky one left behind, he'd dig his fingers into your shoulder Vulcan death grip style. We would all have a good laugh about it and we all secretly wanted to be that one left behind. He was a great teacher and a great man. My condolences to you on this great loss. He will be missed by many.

I am very sorry Kennedy family for your loss of Mike as a father and family man, not to mention a great community person. I didn't know Mike as well as some of his basketball friends with whom he hung around and I played against in high school in 1967 while I was at Sydney academy.
Nevertheless, I would see him just about every year at the AUS and/or CIS basketball championships with his fellow basketball friends/ retired players from New Waterford (Donnie Macaulay and Lowell Cormier among others). We always had time to have a couple of cold ones and chat a bit about who was playing and reminisce a bit about the past.
To be honest I didn't realize how much he did for the kids in the CB area, and that his efforts are about as high a tribute as you can give to him in that he made such a positive difference in the lives of so many kids throughout the years. You will always have that to keep in your hearts and help to some extent with your healing as time goes on.
Wishing you all the best in this difficult time.

to the Kennedy Family our deepest condolences during this very difficult time for all of you. I had the great pleasure to Mike for many years. He taught my children and 3 grandchildren the art of basketball. It was always a conversation with Mike that brought me to be friends with Mike he always said I never failed anyone in gym class other then my oldest daughter Tara, as she did hate gym so just would not take her gym clothes to class. He also felt bad about that and I told him it was a laugh between the two of us!!! He further went on and my 3 oldest grandchildren Alex, Logan and Emalee played basketball, he always kept them up even when the team lost and told them guys as long as we have fun that is the main thing. To this day they have the medals they were so proud of that Mike helped them to obtain.
Mike was a man of kindness and I had the pleasure of working with him during many a election for Frank Corbett. He will be missed by many who lives he was a great part of,
I find it ironic that Mike's life was taken my God just after a few weeks that St. Agnes burnt down, I know how much that school meant to him and the many hours he spent there mentoring children in our community, May god bless you all during this time of grieving Kevin and Gloria Cheetham
