Obituary of Louise Kaiser (Daley), Reserve Mines/ Glace Bay

Louise “Sissy” Kaiser (Daley)
Glace Bay / Reserve Mines

With broken hearts we regret to announce the passing of our beautiful mother, age 75, after a short battle with cancer. She died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, July 28, 2017 at the Glace Bay Hospital. Many are left to mourn this heart wrenching loss. Mom blessed us all with wonderful memories, she instilled in us great morals and nurtured a deep and unconditional love for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mom was a very kind and gentle soul who gave much and expected little in return.
Mom was born and grew up in Reserve Mines.

She was the daughter of the late Fabian Daley and Hortense Marie Daley (Caume).

In her younger years she took pride in raising her seven children, she also enjoyed cooking, baking, and keeping a tidy home. Her greatest pastimes were watching Coronation Street, doing crossword puzzles, playing cards and painting. In her later years she loved being surrounded by her grandchildren, telling stories and having a good laugh.

Louise is survived by her only daughter, Melissa (Ivan) and her five sons, Chris (Kathy), Glen (Janice), Byron “Bemo” (Sandra), Ronnie (Erin), and Jason (Melissa).

Louise will be sadly missed by her  twenty two grandchildren Terry, Shaun, Jen, Jess, Christopher, Gee, Melissa, Sherelle, Greg, Kristin, Alyssa, Kindra, Trevor, Brandon, Andrew, Kaitlyn, Emily, Tyler, Jordan, Corey, Robert and Jason, 13 great grandchildren, Evelyn, Kameron, Ethan, Larissa, Casey, Connor, Carter, Gracie, Abigail, Callie, Cohen , Aria and a baby girl, Autumn on the way.

Also Louise is survived by two loving sisters, Norma Steele (Byng) and Doreen Davidson, seven brothers, Melvin, Gary (Betty), Mannie (Francias), Butch, Ronald , Donald (Brenda) and Paul (Leona). She will be dearly missed by her many nieces and nephews especially, Allan, Wayne, Shelly, Nikki, Shannon, Brad, Shane, Tara and Hughie Kaiser.

She was predeceased by her son, Trevor, husband, Denton, long-time companion, Sonny, sister in law, Beverly and two sisters in infancy, Julie and Myrna.

A special thank you to the Palliative Care Unit at the Glace Bay General Hospital, 3rd South for taking such great care of our mother.

No flowers please. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the palliative care unit or the cancer society. Mom taught us everything except how to live without her. We love you forever mom.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. The funeral mass, officiated by Fr. Dan Boudreau is Wednesday at 11 a.m. in St. Josephs Church, Reserve Mines followed by interment in the parish cemetery, MacLeod’s Crossing. A reception will be held at Reserve Mines Pensioners Club.
