Obituary of Bobby LeBlanc, River Ryan/Reserve Mines

Bobby LeBlanc

Reserve Mines / River Ryan

Bobby, age 63, left this earth peacefully on Christmas Day, December 25, 2017 into the arms of his mother and father.  He was born on July 28, 1954, to the late Daniel and Genevieve (O'Neil) LeBlanc (White) of Reserve Mines.

He is survived by his sister, Danette Murphy (Lonnie), Tanglewood, brother, David, Reserve Mines, nieces, Sarah Jarvis (Jerry), Genna Murphy (Josh), grand nephews, Drew and Alex Jarvis, Tristan Squires and grand niece, Rowen Squires, godmother and aunt, Colleen Graham, aunt, Elaine Boutilier and many cousins, especially Leona (Aucoin) Colijn who held him in a special place in her heart.

Fourteen years ago Bobby was fortunate to come to live on Nicklewood Avenue in River Ryan, a home operated by Cape Breton Residential Society, where he was loved and cared for by some of the finest people we have ever known. They grieve today as family does; therefore, he is survived by all of them and his housemates.

Bobby faced many obstacles in his life and met each with a strength the common person may never know.  He faced each challenge head on and adapted himself accordingly.  He loved Tim's coffee, long drives, or sometimes just a run to the dump with his buddy in the truck.  He loved to laugh, listen to fiddle music, eat cheesies, chocolate, play with a certain kind of string and enjoy a good old-fashioned meal.  His passing leaves a hole in the heart of many and he will be remembered fondly by all.  He is now with mom and daddy who have been waiting for him for a long time.

Family flowers only please.  Donations may be made to Cape Breton Resdential Society, Arthur Street, New Waterford or St. Joseph's Cemetery Fund, Reserve Mines.

Visitation from 7-9 pm, Friday, December 29 in V. J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. The funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph's Church, Reserve Mines, Saturday at 11 am, Fr. Danny Boudreau officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery and a reception in the church hall.
